Short answer: what injectables are
Injectables are wrinkle relaxers and dermal fillers. Wrinkle relaxers are a purified protein placed into facial muscles. Dermal fillers are gels placed under the skin. Both are medical products, given by licensed providers where state law allows, and state rules set who may inject. A licensed provider asks about your health and medicines first, then decides what is suitable. This site does not inject anyone. It passes your request to a provider in or near Jersey City.
Who may inject in New Jersey
Who may give injectables is set by state rules, and they differ. Depending on the state, injectors may include physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, registered nurses and, in some places, dentists. Many states also have rules about supervision, about who must do the first assessment, and about where injections can be given.
Injectables are given by licensed providers where state law allows. You can ask any provider: What is your license? Who supervises you, if anyone? How much training do you have with this product? Who handles it if something goes wrong after the visit? A licensed provider should answer without hesitation.
Questions to have ready
A consultation is the time to ask, so prepare your questions in advance. A few to start with:
- Who will do the injections, and what license do they hold?
- Which product type are you suggesting, and why?
- What side effects are possible, and how would you handle a complication?
- What aftercare should I follow?
- Is there a follow-up visit?
- How is cost worked out?
Cost is set by each provider, so ask at the consultation. The questions to ask page has more ideas.
Questions about injectables
What side effects are possible?
Bruising, swelling and tenderness where the injection was given are commonly discussed, and less common complications exist too. Ask the provider to explain the side effects for the specific product, how they would handle a complication, and who to contact afterward. For anything that worries you, see a doctor.
Will I be treated at the consultation?
Sometimes. Some providers can treat at the same visit if you both agree, and others prefer a separate appointment. Sending a request on this site does not book or commit you to anything. You can always take time to think after hearing the provider's view.
What should I ask an injector?
Ask about their license, training and how often they inject; which product they suggest and why; possible side effects; how they handle complications; and aftercare. The questions to ask page has a longer list you can print or copy.
